Movement is done on an individual basis throughout the day (work/play time and outside play).  By helping the children individually as the situation presents itself, the children will be able to master new skills more easily.  This is done because of the large age and ability ranges that can occur in this room.

The toddler room uses a High/Scope curriculum to teach new concepts.  This curriculum uses daily, developmental experiences that the children will eventually master.  The activites are deisgned to be hands-on, with the teacher acting as a guide to the learning.  The purpose of each activity is the process, not the end product.

Toddlers will have two or three "small group experiences" a week.  The purpose of the activities are to start the children to focus their attention on what they are doing for a short period of time.  These activities are only done two or three times a week so that the children do not get tired of them, and to still encourage socialization through play.
